2005 Winners
Congratulations to all the winners of their classes from the owners and
all the staff of M.D.P. The competition is very tough with a large field
of racers in most classes. Some of our racers have many years of
experience. Top three in any class at our track is no easy task. You’ve
proven to be on top of your game for 2005. Bravo and job well done.

A
special congratulations goes out to Mark Murray. This year we believe
he has set 2 new firsts records at MDP. His first one being the
youngest winner of a class, Mark turned 19 in February of this year.
The second one is being the first Import driver to win a class. For
those of you who do not know, Mark drives a 1994 Honda Accord that
is his daily driver. Mark shows no mercy on the Accord as he puts it
through the gears at each and every race and then to top it off,
enters it in the burn out competition.

This year brought a lot of
changes to the track and Horsepower was also one big change. 2005 has
proven to be the fastest year in history for M.D.P.

Our rookie of the
year award goes to SP1973 Andy Charlton. Andy and his well
prepared 73 Ford Comet were an awesome team in 2005.
His first weekend he finished 3rd place, and then
throughout the year he became a strong competitor. You did
an excellent job Andy. See you in 2006. Andy is from Willow
Grove, N.B. Sponsored by Charlton’s Garage; Ken Kelly
Trucking; Jed’s Car Wash; HI-Tech Mechanical & Coatings.
Pit
Crew David Charlton, Robert Barton, Kim Charlton. |

Best Sportsmanship
award goes to SP 1992 Peter Hobart. Peter and his beautiful
1967 Maroon Chevy II have been racers since
2001. Peter is from Grand Bay West, Saint John, N.B. He’s
known in the pits as a down to earth racer.
Peter’s two sons have joined him this year racing in our
ever growing Junior Dragster program.
Peter
is family and a friend to all. Great job Peter and see you
and your boys in 2006. Sponsors by JFN Racing; Keel Const.

Our Top MPH goes to Trevor Moulton with his 2000 Pro Outlaw Camaro with
6.97 ET and 203 MPH). Trevor was the first and only person to break over
200mph at M.D.P. this summer. Trevor demonstrated that his ride was indeed a
very fast car as he consistently set mph records over 200. His blown-alcohol Camaro was another fan favorite this summer. Trevor’s top E.T. was
6.970 with a 1.15 60 foot and set the Top MPH @ 203.63 mph.
|
 |
Our Top E.T. goes to Kevin “Capone”
Trites out of Moncton in his Nitro dragster they call the “Widow Maker.” Kevin holds the record with a 6.85 in a ¼ mile.
His 1.04 60 feet is a track record for a Maritime racer. As Kevin became
comfortable with his new ride this year he really proved to be one of the
fastest cars to be reckoned with.Sponsored

Also congratulations to the Nuclear Banana team, Boo King and his
1968 Camaro for winning the fastest street car in Canada award this
summer in Ontario. It has proven to be a year of challenges and you have met
your goal by beating that record at M.D.P. Excellent job and
congratulations to all of you for the fastest year ever.68 Camaro (706 Cubic Inch)
standard. With a time of 7.209 sec. and hitting a speed of 198.52 mph in a ¼
mile drag race earned Boo King the title “ The fastest street legal car
in Canada” Fredericton N.B.
